Advancement to candidacy
“Advancement to Candidacy” (ATC) means you’ve completed your coursework and program requirements, and are officially considered ready to move forward with the dissertation (for Ph.D.) or thesis (for master’s) phase of your graduate program.

Planning to graduate
As you near the end of your program, there are several important steps to complete before graduation. This includes submitting your M.S. project, thesis, or doctoral dissertation, applying to graduate, and ensuring you meet registration requirements for the quarter your degree is conferred.
