Riadul Islam graduated from Baskin Engineering with a Ph.D. in computer engineering. His work focused on designer commission of VLSI and specifically on clock distribution network design. He was initially drawn to UCSC because of its close proximity to Silicon Valley and an opportunity to work in the VLSI design lab with Professor Matthew Guthaus.
